Pups
My boss sent me a pic of a litter of stafford pups bred by a parishioner yesterday. They were very sweet, but because of everything I've picked up on from this forum I immediately started with 20 questions...
What colour were the parents?
Were the parents health tested?
Was it planned?
Why was it planned?
Were there good homes lined up?
Are they kc registered?
What's the COI?
Why were the pups on a duvet rather than a more hygeinic disposable bedding?

Re: Pups
I think ive put off more people from owning a dog than I have from getting one lol.Guy at work rerecently asked me about getting a puppy so I told him about the poo, pee, chewed things, looking like a self harmer, having to get up several times during the night and them still having accidents. Cold poo between your toes as you go to the loo yourself when you forget to turn light on as you go to loo yourself...and then on top of that all the training and socialising... im sure some people just think you get a dog and it instantly knows what to do.

Re: Pups
Ahhh they are gorgeous, and yes I think you are quite right to ask these kind of questions as this what potential new owners should be asking too and you are just preparing the breeder for the questions.

Re: Pups
I love Tip and I do the same. I ask questions first and am dead honest about my experience being a bull terrier owner. Even with all my research I think she bowls me over with her energy and that oh frustrating stubborn streak.
Yet I do not for one moment regret letting her into our lives. Part of me still miss Tim but I relish being loved by Tip.
Must agree with Dave. Its only right that people realise our chosen breed is not a breed to be taken on lightly.

Re: Pups
It's my job to put people off getting a dog.. once they've passed my 21 questions and still want a dog they may move to the next step I usually get "ah, yeah you've actually talked sense into me now" or "can I see the cats?"

Re: Pups
Yes, it is. What happened was that the bitch had been introduced to a whelping box in the bathroom & she'd settled in to it very well. She wasn't due for about a week so everybody went to bed.
Woke up next morning to find she'd had the pups, but had them in the shower cubicle! Instead of gently moving the bitch and her pups they let her stay where she was & tucked a quilt under her & her babies & there they stayed!
I believe they have now been moved!
