Surely comman sense could have prevailed here. Obviously the lad wanted to do good in raising some cash for a charity he then gets punished for doing so:

That's ridiculous! It's for charity! Even if it wasn't, since when is a shaved head considered an extreme hairstyle? This is what seems like a nice boy with good morals, just wanting to raise money to research an illness that has affected people all over the world, including a relative. Clearly the school needs to get its priorities straightened out, if they're punishing the people who genuinely want to do good. Maybe they should try focusing on the students who spend their time doing bad.

Glad there was a protest. Hopefully it'll give the governing board of that school something to think about.

Absolutely ludicrous and just a perfect example of the people that exist in life to make and enforce rules . Obviously a fantastic and very generous effort for a disease extremely close to my heart but these days loads of people shave their head . My MD who is head of a big money making UK company ( something like 3rd biggest UK MT company at the moment I think ) is a shaven headed bloke , hpow does that work then , is somebody mistaken and he should be serving an asbo somewhere ??

Very short sighted!

It would have been so simple to make an exception in this case, and make it clear to other pupils that it was an exception. Red tape gone mad.
