Quiting is for quiters... im gonna boldly carry on rolling with my head held high knowing I didnt quit when the times became hard... actually I wish I could but with all my problems at the mo id prob end up in the clink for murdering someone for not indicating at a roundabout. .. its much safer for the world that I keep smoking..see how selfless I am

Re: Stoptober 2013
I'm smoking for England - I alone have kept this country afloat with the money I pay in taxes for the only pleasure (apart from alcohol) left to me.
I hate to be pressurised by Big Pushes like Stoptober (although this is the first of I've heard of it) but cough, cough, cough - I'm thinking of giving it up for the 100th time. If my life settles down all nice and quiet I might do it .......

Re: Stoptober 2013
Are Nicquitins any good, does anyone know? Patches, will power and electronic fake cigs haven't worked for me

Re: Stoptober 2013
What niquitins are you talking about Lynda ??
There's a drug the doc can give you know that destroys the urge , but apparently with some people a side effect can be to make you a bit short tempered and loopy so I avoided it

don't know how it's spelt Dave - just seen the adverts on the telly. They're available otc and according to the add you just pop this little pill when the urge hits you and bingo the urge is gone - "one cigarette at a time" I think the add says.

Re: Stoptober 2013
Yeah I think so Dave. Any experience of these anyone? (I don't want to shell out all that money if it just gives me a tobacco taste - I can lick up my dog-ends for that!)

Re: Stoptober 2013
Or maybe these ???
http://www.boots.com/en/NiQuitin-Minis-4mg-60_981186/
On boots website 60 tabs = £14 quid , winner if you buy your baccy from the shop or smoke tailor mades , they need to cut the cost right down if you buy from the window cleaner like me , it's just not economically viable

Re: Stoptober 2013
I still have some niquiting chewy and boots own stuff that I bought 4 years ago when I got my car ( plan was to stop in the car , never quite managed it )Lynda wrote:Yeah I think so Dave. Still quite funny to see Jo's face when she asks on a journey if I have any chutty 2 chews and let her rip

Re: Stoptober 2013
A girl I work with has successfully stopped for several months after using Champix ( I think this is the one with the grumpy side effect as a possibility ) I can honestly vouch for her that she didn't suffer as lets just say we didn't get along for a couple of years and now she is a pleasure to work with . Got to be worth a try Lynda , the nurse gives you the once over then gives you the prescription

Re: Stoptober 2013
Thanks Dave, I'll ask about it when I see the doc for my cough cough cough.

Re: Stoptober 2013
Well done Sazzle. I really must do it too - it's all that suffering I can't stand.
I did it for a few weeks a year or so ago, then someone ran into my car and denied responsibility. I was cool ......
Then a day or so later my computer blew up in my face - literally, big bang.
No car, no computer - what could a girl do but light up a comfort stick.
I do admire anyone whose will-power overcomes provocation.

Re: Stoptober 2013
A lady after my own heart tis same as me I'd be loaded if I didn't have kids & darcy, but I'd also be miserable too so I'd rather be just the way I am spending all my spare cash on them
