raw fish question
The kids have successfully been on raw for about 6 months or so now and doing really well. Fish-wise they get sardines, pilchards and the odd bit of hake (we don't have fishmongers per se so it's been difficult finding stuff). However today I managed to get a couple of yellowtail heads (they're huuuuge!) as well as something called Gurnards.
Do you think these will be safe? As far as I know salmon is the only one to stay away from?
Thanks!!

Re: raw fish question
Oily fish is best for dogs, they are the most beneficial.
Salmon is ok if it's not from the pacific northwest.
I would think those fish would be alright i've just not heard of them

Re: raw fish question
I've just read that both those fish are oily - yay! The yellowtail fish heads I got must weigh over 500g each, but instead of a gorge meal this time I'll hack them up and see if they like them first!
The gurnards are whole and a decent size...haven't decided yet but think I will give those to them whole! Yay
