respecting your elders
absolutely blown away by woodys behaviour this afternoon. my 81 year old nan came round and hasnt seen woody since the day i got him at 8 weeks old (its not that i havent seen her in a year i just normally go to her - im not that disrespectul). oh my god he didnt jump up or mouth or tug her clothin like he tries with all other family/friends, he sat at her feet chewing his bone! tried to stop her leaving mind but was really blown away by his overall performance! my mum was impressed too as he normally harrasses her! think he loves the blue rinse brigade

Re: respecting your elders
They always seem to know!
When Bandit was about 18 months (and really full of himself!) I took him to see my gran. She was 95 years old & had recently come out of hospital after a perforated ulcer so was quite frail.
Whe she opened the door Bandit just stood & wagged his tail with that big staffy grin. Then he waited until she had sat down & went and put his head on her lap - love at first sight!

Re: respecting your elders
awwwww well done woody!!
They definitely do know, when i used to take Jake up to the hospital to visit my dad he would sit at his feet and head on the lap, not the usual jumping up and cos my dad had had the stroke he was really immobile so he used to just rest his hand on jakes head for the entire time and that dog did not budge from his side.
Perfect animals, mind you, im biased lol

that is lovely. it is such a fantastic quality to have...my mum is nearly 80 and while she was over here on holidays Jethro just sat at her feet to be stroked, and when mum was eating a biscuit with her cup of tea Jethro would start 'singing' so mum was compelled to give him the rest of her biscuit!

Re: respecting your elders
My dogs are like this with Children. God forbid I pick up their toys and hold them over my head ready to throw, they will start whining and springing. If my 6 year old niece or any of the children who play outside our block (ranging in age from 3 - play with them they sit nicely, never jump up or moan and just generally act like wonder-dogs! food another one, with my food they will try to dribble all over my lap and lean in to 'crumb-catch' unless they are given the leave command. Ttyme (little niece) sits there sharing her snacks with them and they all sit in a line, about half a meter away and dont even attempt to get up or catch her crumbs. They know who to do it to!
