Omega capsules for dogs???
Hi all,
Does anyone give their dogs these supplements?
I am now in the process of switching samson from wainwrights on to skinners duck and rice. The wainwrights had added omega supplements but the skinners does not. this got me reading about supplementing the canine diet with omega oils.
It seems like a good supplement to use but is it a load of waffle or worth getting and if so would 'human' capsules work and how much and often to dose.
Cheers

I'd recommend something like salmon oil as well. You can put a couple of squirts into the food, which is especially useful for dogs who don't like taking pills. There are also usually no added ingredients which you would find in capsules.

Chiquito has 2 1000mg fish oil capsules daily - I buy him the same ones I would take from the chemist in bulk, he just gets the ones that are fishy is all

I used to use the vetvit oil but they stopped doing it, so have ordered some of the capsules Ella has suggested and some salmon oil. Does everyone put it on food daily or would it be too much?
