Agility training
I have been contemplating agility training for Bacchus. Providing I can find a class up here who will take a staffy ( have heard several are not keen ) is he old enough to take part in this? He is 13 months.

Re: Agility training
I think there is lots of things that can be worked on "on the flat", before the dog ever gets on equipment (jumps & such) he can learn the basics with out doing any damage and a good school should stear you in the right direction as to wether he should/should not do certain things whilst growing, hope this helps Rodger.

Re: Agility training
It is recommended that dogs not start agility until 12-18 months of age. Here you can start agility classes from 12 months, moving up through stages from there.

Re: Agility training
I heard it was 18 months to do the jumps but as has been said before can do the others. I did a taster session when tash was about 5 months, jumps on the floor. She loved it and was the best in the class. Will be looking at it again when she's 18 months old.

Re: Agility training
If you find a place that will, just ask them when the best age for them to start is! Im sure Bacchus will do great!

Re: Agility training
I did find a class but not in your location, that built you up from the smaller jumps ect to the more difficult stuff so it was more gradual. But I have heard that 12 months is sort of the starting age. Hope you find something

Our club do a foundation workshop from 6months poles on the ground, going through tunnels etc then agility can start from 12 months
Ledger has been welcomed at the club, at the show we went to and was adored at the Kennel club event the other week. Yes he has his I'm not listening moments but I have to be spot on as he is super focused on me at times and crazily fast when he gets going, he will be challenging the collies when I get it right

They are not all guilty, but some are, just because of staffy prejudice.
