English Staffy Issues
Hi,
I'm new to the forum. I have an 8month old male English Staffy not desexed. He is generally pretty well behaved and is trained really well. Though when no one is watching he likes to chew apart his wooden kennel and destroy his beds, not only that recently he keeps jumping up on everyone, which we firmly say no to. He is walked everyday, fed twice a day and i leave him with a Kong toy with treats in it to keep him occupied. He is only left by himself for about 4 hours a day. Can anyone offer any advice?
Regards,
Tom

Re: English Staffy Issues
If it is recent behaviour then perhaps this is linked to separation anxiety. Is it only recent that he has been left on his own? Does he eat the treats in his kong when you go out?

Re: English Staffy Issues
Unfortunately I'm in Australia Janey, would love for him to meet some more Staffy friends.
I run/job every morning for about 4km. His been left on his own since I got him, the kennel has just been a new addition for the last 2months. He has been eating his beds in and outdoors when i'm not watching. Yeah he eats the treats, i've tried things like peanut butter a swell to make the Kong last longer. When i'm around he gives me his full attention and is calm + relaxed very obedient. When i'm not focused on him or playing with him he chases his tail. He is very well looked after and I take him down to the park for a throw of the frisby or tennis bal and swims at the beach. Any suggestions to stop the eating of the kennel/beds? or just take them off him.
Thanks for the support

Re: English Staffy Issues
Drake normally sleeps on the bed with me, but I boycotted him as of lastnight due to what he did to his Kennel. His a cheeky staffy that's for sure. Trying to decide if getting him desexed will help with his behavioural issues of eating his beds. Would love to breed him in the future though.
How do you go with leaving Moo on her own, does she eat the backyard?
Thanks for replys Janey.

Re: English Staffy Issues
Tail chasing can be a potential problem and can lead to other issues later in the dogs life. Please have a look at the link below which explains how this can get out of hand:
