Greetings from kozmos and 'Lady'
hi :-)
i've been reading forum posts for a couple of days ..
took a tour thru the website rules and help links
am hoping 'Lady' has found an internet 'home' here
but to be sure ..
is Lady a staffy ?
i picked her up from a rescue kennel 2 weeks ago
people there described her as a staffy ..
she's been for a health checkup at the local vet ..
i was told she certainly has staffy in her ..
here are some photos and vids of her ..
http://www.waterdragon.org.uk/alphie_pics/Lady.html
( admin. hope it's ok to post that link .. be my webspace )
the other dog there is 'Alphie' .. a rescued jack-russel .. lives next door
him and 'lady' have become best of friends ..
whatever breed mix Lady be .. she is proving to be a wonderful companion ..
affectionate and playful .. and just loves to go running :-)
Lady had no name at the kennels .. i.e. name unknown
she was obviously in a state of fear .. shaking and wanting to sit on my lap all the way home
( adopting her that day wasn't exactly planned .. it more or less happened )
to calm her down i stroked her and found myself calling her Lady ..
she was so well behaved .. given her circumstances .. the name 'Lady' stuck :-)

Hi and welcome to the forum from Chiquito and I
Lovely pictures of Lady and Alphie .. they look as though they enjoy each others company! Lady is just gorgeous .. I just love those ears and that happy face!!
While it is not possible to say with certainty what breed a dog is without knowing its history, to mine Lady does look like she has some staffy in there ... either way though, she is lovely

Re: Greetings from kozmos and 'Lady'
thanx all for the welcome ..
i've not personaly 'owned' ( i prefer 'cared for' ) .. a dog since i were a teen ..
am now not far off from the free bus pass
i grew up in australia .. we had 3 dogs as part of the family ..
farming was part of my life and i always enjoyed the company of canine friends
had never come across the 'staffy' breed before .. not untill i came to the u.k.
and then only saw them now and again .. and read about them in news articles
couple of years ago an american friend got a little chihuahua female
me .. never had been fond of 'toy' breeds .. fell for her thru pics and videos sent :-)
then .. a month back my next door neighbour rescued 'alfie' ..
( after her previous corgie/alsation mix passed away from old age )
and one day i was asked to 'dogsit' alfie .. hence the photos ..
my neighbours brother has a couple of staffy's
and i was being told how they actualy are
and what a bad deal they get thru the press .. and bad 'ownership'
so got to thinking about rescuing a dog myself ..
originaly went to see a jack-russel male at the kennels ..
but .. he unfortunately had an agression problem with other dogs ..
as i walked about the kennels .. i came across Lady ..
i took her for a brief walk .. and she more-or-less jumped in my lap
'n said "please please take me home with you" in her doggie way ..
so i did .. :-)
i've had 3 cats since living in the u.k. ..
the last one passed away 14 years ago ..
thought i'd not get another pet .. as i hated the 'goodbye' ..
anyhow .. am now very happy to have Lady with me ..
she's now in the process of getting-used-to-the-car ..
after 5 trips .. she's gone from hiding in her basket .. to sitting up 'n looking out the window
although yesterday .. she experienced the sound of tyres-on-cattle grid ..
and immediately started shaking and trying to jump in my lap ..
( i thought it might be the smell of sheep .. or something else
( but 2 cattle grids later it became clear what was bothering her ..
today i think were off to the seaside ..
( i had the impression the previous visit was her first ever ..
( she didn't quite know what to make of 'waves' ..
( nor the streams of water flowing down to the sea across the beach ..
~~~~~~~
should be working ok now :-)
~~~~~~~
thanx again for the welcome :-)

Hi &welcome to the forum! Lady is adorable! Her face just melts my heart! So sad how many dogs end up in rescues! Good job on rescuing her she sounds like such a sweet girl! She definitely looks staffy to me! Maybe has some other breed in her as well but I can def see the staffy in her!
