Leaving Daisy with Belle for the 1st time!!!
I have to go out tomorrow for an hour or so and it's the 1st time I will be leaving Daisy and Belle together?!
Belle is totally fine being left she is in her bed in the kitchen and has the radio on and just sleeps ( I never leave her for more than 3 hours) I am home most of the day every day.
Just wanted some advice on whether I should leave them together in the kitchen or put Daisy in a different room whilst I'm out?
Belle seems to be getting used to Daisy being here now and loves to play with her, however the play can get quite full on with Belle mouthing/ pushing Daisy and then Daisy biting Belle quite a lot!!
Very grateful Karen, Belle and Daisy xxx

Re: Leaving Daisy with Belle for the 1st time!!!
Do you have a crate? Maybe it would be best to put Daisy in a separate room in her crate while your out! It could be dangerous to leave an 8 week old puppy out with free roam of the house! Not because of Belle but she could destroy your furniture or even worse she could get into something she shouldn't and chew or swallow something dangerous! If you don't have a crate could you leave her in a puppy proof room like the laundry room?

I can leave Daisy in the kitchen and Belle can have the hallway and stairs they will be separated by a safety gate! Do you think this would be ok? Xxx

That's great news, did you separate them with the gate?

I would be tempeted to leave the 2 dogs in separate rooms if leaving them. I have never had 2 dogs together though so would air on the side of caution. Sounds like they were both OK though anyway.

Re: Leaving Daisy with Belle for the 1st time!!!
we always leave Tommy in the kitchen ( as he likes to chew things like socks , coat hangers , make up brushes, toilet rolls etc ) and then Tilly has the full run of the rest of the house with only a Safety gate at the kitchen door between them and they are fine . Tommy mostly sleeps in his bed , but most they are ever left regularly is 2 hours or so if I have to go out to work.
We did leave them once for about 5 hours at my sister in laws when we travelled up with the dogs instead of kennels for a big party but we had to use crates ( and crate them all night with us sleeping beside them on the floor with an airbed ) but I really hated it as Tilly has not been in a crate for over 2years and Tommy 5 months at the time

If they are both okay being separated, im sure it will be fine to keep them that way, especially that they are only being left a few hours although I don't own 2 dogs so im not 100% sure.

Personally I always separate Chiquito from other dogs when I am not there to supervise
