£9 down the drain!
Mum went to pets at home today to get food for her lizards and she always comes back with a toy for Boss today she got a ruff&tuff tug toy thing.. she said its ruff and tuff so it should be alright, give boss it for a bit, go into the kitchen, pour a drink and come back... has all this stuffing pulled out and the rope on the end hanging off!! in 30 seconds! surly this toy can go back to the shop as thats terrible, how can they even call that tuff? maybe they tested on kittens! Rant OVER!! for now

Re: £9 down the drain!
Gwen destroys those kind of toys in seconds! We have now started timing her! The last one took her 33 seconds to rip it open, get all the stuffing out, and find the squeaker! Its ridiculous! She gets so excited and is on a mission to destroy is as quick as possible!

.... tested on kittens Definitely take it back!
(Compulsory staffy toy testing would ensure we had plenty of tough toys on the market, though I doubt much would make it that far!)

Re: £9 down the drain!
yous are right, im finding it so hard to find a good toy that 1. he has an interest in. 2. he cant destroy it in a minute haha! my top 3 for durability so far are extreme kong, stag bar and nylabone although he never had much interest in it until recently and its half chewed. getting him a rubber tire on a rope i seen at pets at home a while back next, anyone got/tried it?

Re: £9 down the drain!
Have you thought about some toys yourself ? When we first got Rocky my hubby used an old bed sheet and tied lots of knots in it to use as a tug toy, it lasted for ages and we still have some it here still 2 years later.
An old pair of jeans would work just as well for this.

Re: £9 down the drain!
Nothing lasts around these tough dogs haha, definitely take it back! Agree with Kathy, old clothing and sheets are fantastic, ive got heaps around the house as Rockys toys sometimes get really muddy outside, they have lasted forever!

Re: £9 down the drain!
Went to PAH today and got a refund with a slight difficulty, tried there best not to refund me but as i read the back of the label 'best for chewing and pulling for hours of fun on your dogs wildest adventures' i said 30 seconds in my living room is not a wild adventure. Got my refund and bought an extra large stag bar instead. Oh and a coconut for him

Re: £9 down the drain!
I bought Dempsey (huge power chewer) a toy last Christmas for a really good price; it's a really strong, thick rubber material with a sturdy squeaker. He managed to kill the squeaker after a couple of months, but the toy's still more or less undamaged. Several little bite marks on there and a little ragged on one end, but other than that it's good! I'll try to find it online in a moment!

Dempsey has the red one
JW do really good sturdy toys - you should check out their website.

Their stuff is really great! Decent sizes as well - the large bone is about 8-10 inches long!

The ends are hollow, but the rubber itself is probably about an inch thick, so it might as well be solidBIG SBT wrote:Looks great and a good price

It's the only toy Dempsey has ever had for longer than a month since his adult teeth came in.

Re: £9 down the drain!
I had the same prob with the ruff and tuff toys, I got my refund no bother. A boomer ball is great for them either the 8" or 10" my girls love their boomers. Quite a few of us on the forum swear by them It's not a chew toy and is very robust.

Re: £9 down the drain!
Lol they never wanna refund.
I find in my work its so funny we will sell a tough toy for a really strong lab at 9 months that destroys everything and its great they say lasted ages but sell the same toy to a persistant cocker n its gone.
We have a lady with a staffy who orders the mint flavoured nylon bones (not nylabone tho il check) but she orders 2 rings and 2 bones and we dont see her for months she said there great u just take them off them when theyv worn it down. Also there is a new nylabone competitor coming out tht iseant to be better as nylabone is coated with flavour then baked whereas this companies have the flavour in the nylon so its through the whole bone

How rubbish, I had this problem with a Kong toy which I spent about £15 on. Needless to say I wrote a complaint letter and they sent me out 3 new toys! Great customer service
