Head Size

Hello again sorry for all the posts today, feeling chatty haha!

Anyway, Everyone that stops to stroke boss always talks about how big his head is but its not like 'massive' (well i dont think it is) is there a standard size/range? all this head talk made me measure it and he has a 19 inch head and 20 inch neck. iv noticed recently at nearly 9 months his head has started to 'split' im guessing this is muscle just and his head might get wider still?

if yous have a tape measure near by measure your dogs heads and tell me its normal  

it's it's all depend how they have been bred really

If I had a tape measure I would, and yes your right that its the muscle formation that causes a groove, biggest myth of them all is the head splits. Xx

Vinnies head is 20.5 inches and his neck is 18.5 inches:o 

all i know is last measure chance had 24" neck and harv a 21" i think i have measured their heads but can't remember!

Daisy's got a small head, now she's filled out a bit it's like a little pea head from the back!  

At 9 months he's still got a bit of filling out to do. The cheek and head muscles will strengthen which will give the impression that his head is getting wider.

You're quite right it's the muscle formation that causes the change in shape, no spliting involved there at all  

Chiquito says no to tape measuring of heads .... will try again later when he is asleep and less inclined to eat it.

haha pea head it doesnt matter what size their heads are or how 'ripped' they are anyway, i was just curious.. as ya do haha!

Hugos head is 20" his neck is 18"

Gwen is 7 months and her head hasn't gotten too much bigger yet! You are right their head doesn't split the muscles forum a groove in the middle! His head sounds a normal size to me! Tried to measure Gwen's head but she said no wayyy Mom and tried to rip apart the tape measure!  

No dogs here at work with me, I will measure them later!

Choc woke up and gave me the evil what-do-you-think-you-are-doing-to-me eye, however we have measured .... his noggin is 16"/17" and his neck is 16.5".

Its good to know! I tried too but Rocky wasn't so interested in letting me doing it, more interested in chewing it haha.
