Can you poo in one place please??
Our 4 month old puppy leaves our lawn as a minefield of poo's all placed evenly all over. She will never poo in the one place. I am keen to do this will her but I just don't know
I have heard that this can be done? Can someone offer advise on how I can teach her to go in the one place? It will make life a lot easier as I won't have to worry about the kids trotting in poo every time they go out to the swing - they are too young to pick it up or even avoid it . When I have been with her outside and she is about to go I will call her over to where I want her to go but she will just wonder away before going.
Any advise please. Thanks a million

Well I have never heard of that, but I will always pick up Vinnies poo everytime he goes as I don't like it hanging about. Luckily he does go always at the bottom of the garden.

Daisy doesn't go in the same place either and walks along as she does it to spread it around a bit! I prefer it when she poos on walks but if she does it in the garden I just pick it straight up!

Dogs poo where they smell a clean spot, this then marks their territory in a new spot. You are extremely unlikely to ever get her to poo on the exact same spot so don't hold resentment towards her for something she will never get.

Re: Can you poo in one place please??
Chiquito pooped all over the place when he was younger and for some time it seemed to just be a matter of 'poop where you stand'. Over time he has chosen several areas in the yard where he likes to go - all are well away from the house. This makes it reasonably easy to clean up as all poop will be in one of the areas (usually in his favorite spot which is by the back fence).
You can purchase pee poles and scents that can be used to mark areas for toileting (how successful they would be I am unsure, but I do know they are available). My suggestion though would be to give it time ... I am certain that Bella will choose a suitable area as she gets older

Re: Can you poo in one place please??
The only way I can think of getting it in roughly the same place each time would be to have an area of garden fenced off just for this purpose. Would a dog really ever go in same place everytime anyway ???

Can You Poo In One Place Please
Hi, I would suggest you take your dog to the area you want them to go for a poo not long after you have fed them and give them lots of praise and or a treat for doing their poo in that area and I try to give it a "word association"
(this action has to be consistent from you).
(I trial my staffy and in a nut shell we can go to the toilet on command, not instantaneous with poo but we have a drill and it takes a couple minutes)
you can leave some poo in that area so the dog associates why you go back their. Some of my friends even left some poo there for ever so the sent would penetrate in the dirt. It does take some time.
Once they are doing it in the same area make sure you clean it up as they WILL go somewhere if its not clean. I hope my tips help you out.
Good luck

Re: Can you poo in one place please??
Bob, my foster staffy, always poos in the hedge on walks.
Reverses his backside into the hedge and goes.
Won't poop on the path.
Wish I knew how he learned this as it's a handy trick.
