Put in his place
The last few mornings when walking Katy in the fields we have come across a lady walking 2 chihauhaus & jrt. I recall Katy & put her on lead, the c's are yapping & snarling at my girl & are off lead. The lady says 1 of them has little **** syndrome which I agreed with. However this morning we were up there Katy running happily round the lady entered the field with the fat rats, I didn't recall Katy. 1 rat started yapping so Katy took off after it I've never seen one run so fast It got to the gate & dived under it, the owner was laughing perhaps it will think twice about having a go next time. Katy wasn't being aggressive I blew my whistle & she came straight back puffing a little

She's very good for coming back when called. Logan would have been away tbh

Unfortunately, so would Kuchar. Selective deafness strikes the second he sees another dog.
How lucky you were to come across a chihuahua owner with some dog sense.

Re: Put in his place
I wish she did it every time, she can suffer from selective deafness. I've been practising with the whistle for a few weeks indoors & out just to keep it going (getting through the bacon though )

Good on ya Katy And great work with the recall In that situation I would have had no chance at getting Steff back until she had the rat pinned and submitted

Nope. No chance Bacchus would have come back before having checked things out. Mind you he wouldn't have hung about once he realised they were small dogs. Totally disinterested unless they are big enough for a bit of rough and tumble.
Great recall.
