what is it cob roll bun or other

 i went Sheffield an few time well it was it was place between Sheffield and Rotherham i can't remember what it was call always remember this moment i went in chip shop wanting an fish cake cob  the worker didn't know what i was talking about

yea it was an good fishcake also   i think i was set up becasue my mate told me to get an fish cake cob  i didn't even look at the board i should of done

My mums from chesterfield and she calls them cobs! So I know what you mean but not everyone would!!

Nah Wazza , finger buns are for sausages , bread buns are the round ones and stotties are awesome , I remember I used to work up in Noble and Lund and there was a van 200 yards down used to do a 1/2 stottie breakfast special , feckin awesome

I knew someone from Tamworth who said cob so I would know what you meant. Chip shop chips would be a chip buttie for me. A normal bun is a bun but the Scottish ones with the flour on I would call a roll. Something between 2 slices of bread is a sandwich ( pronounced sammidge)  

This is what I love about the British Isles - tiny in comparison with many other countries but with such a wide variety of dialects and accents that we can hardly understand each other from a few hundred miles apart.
