The Stafford 'Build'.
I've no wish to start an argument about whether a stafford should be 'ripped' or not, but thought I would post the views of a well respected 'stafford man', Mike Homan, on the subject...
"(A Stafford should have) a powerful, but not overlarge head; clean lips, large teeth meeting in a scissor bite; muscular body and limbs - in human terms, not the build of a body builder or a weight lifter, but more on the lines of a fit and ring ready middleweight boxer."
I have to say that in my opinion, he's right.

they should be fit for function - some staffords that are bred are so over done they can hardly breathe...esp one or two lines!

Re: The Stafford 'Build'.
I'd agree Caryll. The photos I've seen of Staffs that are exaggerated in one way or another (heavyweight boxer or Usain Bolt) don't fit the standard for me.

Well I agree and Moo is pretty perfect in my eyes being a bigger girl (even if I do say so myself )

Moo, to me, is a 'typical' stafford bitch. She's feminine, muscular, but not coarse or built like a Mr Universe!

I agree caryll, darcy has a little waist & is more like an athlete than a body builder, I prefer them this way

We have a friend with two staffs, he says Hugo isn't very muscley, but his two are like barrels, I personally prefere the lean, athletic look x

I would say he is right too. I think some that are really ripped are beautiful but i would want my own dog to have less muscles.

I do agree Caryll, great post! Although the 'ripped' are nice to look at, I don't think it is very nice. IMO they add to the dangerous aggressive that everyone assumes they are.
