Firstly hi everyone Smile; me and my partner adopted a beautiful blue staffy about a month ago. I've been reading a lot in the forums but this is the first time I've needed to post.

Basically we initially had him on a food called Collards. He seemed to get on fine with it but I wanted to put him on a higher meat-content food. Have now moved him onto Canagan; it's 60% chicken and looks like a really good food.

Unfortunately almost as soon as he was put onto it he started eating his own poo Sad grim.

Any idea why this could be? I thought eating poo was usually associated with poor quality, additive filled foods?

Hi there, welcome to the forum

I'm afraid I'm not sure, but I know a few of our members have had similar problems so I'm sure someone will have an idea.

Maybe you could come and say hi

Hi and welcome to the forum from Rocky and I Smile

Rocky went through a stage of eating poo also, it took a few weeks of watching him like a hawk and a strong 'leave' and eventually he did stop. Im not too sure if it would have something to do with the food as im not familiar with those brands sorry, im sure someone will have more advice Smile

Hi from us, as Maria said the only way to stop it is to be one step ahead of the little bugger!

Vinnie also went through the stage of poo eating, and not sure if diet was anything to do with it or just a phase, as he doesn't do it now. As said a firm no every time.Smile
