i saw something about this on bear gryll or something similar about the squirrel in American still had the plague.. if the plague merge with another super bug Surprised how dodgy would that be and it happen with other bugs

I think a lot of people just assume it's only rats that carry it, but it's basically any type of rodents that have access to the ground, as they can get infested by the vectors - fleas.

The last pandemic was in the 19th/mid-20th century I think, but the plague is still around. America gets several cases per year.

And some bright spark will undoubtably have a pet squirrel that has contact to the outside world and it will get it, pass it on and BOOM the plague.

It's a very distinctive infection, so I highly doubt there would be another pandemic, no matter who decides it's such a great idea to keep wild animals as pets (real genius move right there). It would most likely be caught and contained.

Oh definitely not. Tongues There are some real idiots around. Thankfully, the people who deal with bubonic outbreaks know what to do. It's an obvious disease, so even if the idiot person keeping the wild animal doesn't think to go to the doctors if he/she contracts it, other people would notice and alert the people who deal with it.
