pesonally i dont think he is too young, best to get them used to each other young, just make sure u have the energy for 2 pups, but i'd get a female if u already have a male, the opposites seem to get on better, just in my experience thats all, other people may have diff opinions.

I he's at a great age and you should definatly get a female and even if possible get one around his age, plenty of shelters spay before hand and atleast you can do a trail run. I think he might be a little too boisterous for a young pup and she may grow to dislike him then you'll have problems on your hands.

I would definatly get a lady for him its very unusual that any problems come from a different sex home.
I would also look for one thats around the same age or maybe slightly younger but limiting the colour you want you may have to wait.
Is your boy dominant or very sociol it would be a good idea to look into opposites if you know what I mean.
2 dominant dogs of any sex dont do well together Smile
Good luck in your search

my dog is very socail when i take him out and he sees others dogs he just sits there and rolls on floor. his been biten by a jack russle and just layed there and had a cut under his eye and to think people say staffies are nasty. iam going down the female route i think black or blue i want to rescue one because there is way to many good staffys waiting for a good home.

i think he is a great age to get a little sister for him. he is about the same as Xoody and we are getting him a sister. And as long as you give him enough love and attention he will get used to not being the only dog in the house.
