Re: god i'm aching tonight
Can you not go back and get something stronger? Or an anti inflammatory too?

Re: god i'm aching tonight
if tonight anything like last night i be going back in the morning, i thought i was getting a bit better before the weekend becasue of the sun i drunk about 30 cans over the weekend i wonder if it's the beer
Re: god i'm aching tonight
Steve wrote:co codamol
If you have had them for a while you might need something a wee bit stronger like Tramadol . I reckon you can become immune after a while.

Re: god i'm aching tonight
It's could be something in the beer causing it, I've a friend with gout who's T-total because it makes it more painful

Re: god i'm aching tonight
Beer contains purine, quote-->once you have to deal with arthritis, it is unanimously advised to limit beer consumption to the minimum, avoid it altogether if you possibly can. In your case the choice would be between stopping drinking beer or continuing to suffer from pain

Re: god i'm aching tonight
can you get arthritis in your bones? i thought you only get it in the joints
Re: god i'm aching tonight
May be worth trying not to drink and see if it helps

Perhaps--->Information on the causes, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment options of bone pain and tenderness. Bone pain is not the same as joint pain or muscle pain. Bone pain can be caused from injuries, arthritic conditions or other more serious reasons. Seek out prompt medical attention for correct diagnosis and proper treatment whenever you experience bone pain and tenderness.

Re: god i'm aching tonight
So sorry to hear that you're aching tonight Steve.
co-codomal is pretty good at pain relief, but the body does tend to get used to it if it is used often.
Is it just your bones (presumably the long bones in your legs/arms) and not the joints at all? In the olden days these were often called "growing pains" - but I guess you've stopped growing! What does your doctor advise?
If I'm prying too much I apologise and just tell me to butt out!

Well I would be going back and demanding to see a specialist or a second opinion. It seems its gone on too long now and sometimes you have to be pushy with these things. But I don't think alcohol helps.

Pretty much all over then, apart from you back (be grateful for small mercies). Has rheumatoid arthritis been ruled out?

Re: god i'm aching tonight
he said the blood didn't come back that show arthritis dont ask me how they know that from blood i thought it was x-ray
Re: god i'm aching tonight
Bloods can shows certain kinds of arthritis, but X-rays show osteoarthritis!!!

Re: god i'm aching tonight
Blood test can show rheumatoid arthritis ( a marker will show up). As Darcy May says you may need x ray. I've just had one on my hands as didn't have rheumatoid marker in blood test, just waiting on result

Re: god i'm aching tonight
As Hayley says, RA can be detected by bloods (and she should know). Osteo-arthritis can be detected by x-rays, but as far as I aware this only affects joints (and I should know! )
Problems in the lower spine can certainly affect the sciatic nerve (bum to toes) and I would imagine by the same problem higher up in the spine could affect the nerve from shoulder to fingers.
Steve, go back to your doctor, please, and don't be afraid to pester as severe bone pain such as you describe should not be pooh-poohed off. You can't live on pain-killers!
((((Hugs)))))

Re: god i'm aching tonight
Have you tried taking ibuprofen with the co codamol? Maybe take it in between to ease break through pain.

Re: god i'm aching tonight
Hey I agree with Lynda on this one, it does sound like a trapped nerve. However could be inflamed????? Just a thought, Devil Claw is good for that. Try seeing an osteopath for those kind of problems, yes they cost, but trust me, thats where docs are rubbish at this you see. I have suffered from a lower back problem, where it was pure hell to just walk, now I run, jump the lot.
