Hi Everyone

Does anyone have their puppy on James WellBeloved dry food? (Turkey and Rice Kibble)

Roman is on this as the breeder was feeding it him and we were also given a bag by the breeder.

He seems really hyperactive after eating, im not sure if that is to do with the E numbers that are mentioned on the back of the bag or not?! Also he also must poo 10 times a day - not sure if thats normal for a 10 week old pup.

I have been on whichdogfood.co.uk and read a review on James WellBeloved about it making their pup hyperactive and also found that Eden meat and fish formula seems to be the way forward so thinking of putting him on that full time.

Please let me know your thoughts

Thanks
Rob & Roman

Rocky used to have James Welbeloved food and did very well on it, not the puppy version though. If you do decide to change over foods do so gradually over 7 - 10 days to avoid a further upset tummy.

I think the E numbers you're referring to are vitamins? Not the nasty ones.

It could be that your pup is reacting to the meat source (turkey) rather than the other things. Some dogs are intolerant of poultry. You could try one with a different meat base such as chicken & see if it helps.

By all means change to Eden if you want to, but bear in mind it's a lot more expensive!

I think they are the vitamins yes.

According to the whichdogfood website, its only £1 more expensive than the James WellBeloved for a 15kg bag but im not overly fussed about price if its better for him.

I'm just concerned after reading the ingredients and noticing a few grains in there and extra salt. I didnt think there was a need for grains in a dogs diet?

No, there's no need at all!

As you say, Eden's a good food. It still has the E number vitamins, though - they just don't give you the E numbers.

Eden looks like a good food, why not ask for a free sample to try it first.

I've already ordered and received 2x400g bags of it which he loves but was still giving him his other food at the same time.

Im going to get him a bag of Eden, it means a 15 mile drive but cant put a price on a happy dog i suppose Smile

Is the pooing thing normal?
