ok i really dont know what im doing,i have been feeding brox a few times a day as needed but iv just been putting food in his bowl trying to guess what i need.

If anyone has seen the food guidelines on the back of james wellbeloved puppy for me anyway its very confusing,i see the first part of the chart saying expected puppy weight and that i agree that my puppy will be between 10 to 20 kg then i move my eyes across it and look for months old i see 3 months,ok great. so like a normal chart you move your eyes across and your eyes down to meet in the middle and then you see how much you feed him,but in this chart it seems to give you 2 options of the amount of grams to use per day and the amount difference is big aswell.

I really have no idea how much i am suppose to put in his bowl.

Can anyone help

When darcy was on jwb puppy as you said the guide can be a little confusing, I used to feed her say the amount was 10-20kgs------110-220g I just gave her a figure in the middle say 170g divided between 2 meals twice a day, and if I though she looked a little porky I'd reduce it & if she looked a little too slim I increased it. Hope this helps Big Grin

Does this chart make it any easier to work out how much to feed, you may have to scroll down a little. This may be less confusing than on the pack:

http://www.wellbeloved.com/products/feeding-guidelines/dog-feeding-guidelines

Would 200 grams sound about right ??

Thanks for comfirming its confusing, sometimes i beat myself up thinking im stupid but its true the chart seems likes its been made to challenge us pet owners,it doesnt really make sence, and even tho you kinda found a way round it by just meeting in the middle and using your own eyes to judge if you dog needed more or less id rather they just make the chart alittle more clearer.

I dont have any scales either il have to get a pair then

200 g would be approx 2 cups full (of an average tea cup)

Puppy section is the first chart shown there,

I just tried your cup idea, and put what i normaly give him into a bowl and then put it into a tea cup and when i x3 that im actually just giving him over than 200g maybe around 210g a day,if 1 full cup was roughly 100g

I've got to admit that I've never weighed my dogs' food! Blushing I've always guessed & then adjusted when I see if they're putting on enough weight.

I'd agree with that, I do the same. If I've ever dared to look at the recommended feeding rates on whatever I've fed any of my puppies (or grown-up dogs) it always seems to be a LOT more than what I've found to keep my pups growing healthily and my grown-up dogs in a good bodily condition. I've always put that down to the manufacturers wanting to sell more of their product, but I am a cynic!
