Re: looking for new puppy
Personally I would now always rescue, if you are looking for a reputable breeder try the kennel club website.

I only rescue too, there are so many lovely dogs needing good homes, might be worth considering

Re: looking for new puppy
we don't really know of any litters going around as we don't like to connect the forum to the breeding side of things as there are far to many byb out there and we don't have the resources to check credentials(LAST THING WE WOULD WANT IS TO POINT ANYONE IN THE WRONG DIRECTION THEN GET THE BLAME FOR UNHEALTHY PUP) And with your girl being 11 months old may be best to leave another 6/7 months before getting a pup as things work out a lot better with training with at least an 18month age gap:)

Re: looking for new puppy
As Warren says ideally you'd be best off waiting a while yet for a bigger agae gap. I did get my last pup via champdogs with some careful research . If you see anything you like then by all means come back here with the info / link and we'd be happy to give you some guidance

Re: looking for new puppy
I am a rescue person too...........I can understand though if you want a pedigree to go with it, as that is the only reason I can see in breeding.
You need to do some research contact the kennel club and take it from there. Good litters will always have a waiting list so it gives you a bit of time.
Good luck.....

I understand both your points of view, but for various reasons some people can't/don't want to rescue. If you want a pup for showing, for example, a rescue won't do. Somebody might want a young puppy & there are none in rescues near them at the time. Or they might want to be sure that the pup they get is clear of the various hereditary problems in the breed today & the only way you can do that is to know that the parents have been tested.

Re: looking for new puppy
Just thought I would add my little bit lol
We did rescue first but sadly it disnt work out after the home check and the meeting we rehomed a female rottie she was just over 12 months from a rottie rescue the history of dog said she was good with kids turns out she wasnt she was ok in passing so to speak juat a short period of time but she couldnt live with them luckily nothing bad happened so she went back to tje rescue
The rescue never told us tjis and in yhe meeting we had to meet in the field where the lady lives not in yhe house or indoors so probably wrong on our part aswell but live and learn all my others I have had from pup so this kind of put me off rescue untill my grils are older in there teens so thats why I went to get taz from pup so I jo I can learn and train him from the day we get him I fully support the work rescues do and if anyone is looking for a dog I always say try the rescue juat make sure you get the right dog for your situation

Re: looking for new puppy
You don't want to wait until your boy is a little older so there is a slightly larger gap between the two dogs? 18 months between them would be ideal! Or a rescue is always a great option as well! Good luck in your search!

Re: looking for new puppy
Manchester is far away. Its sad you can't rescue but I do understand with children you can't really take a chance.
