hello everyone Smile

woke up yday morning to Boss wanting into my bed and realised he had green gunk/sleep in his eyes, anyone know what it is and how to cure it? i know my girlfriends cocker spaniel has hayfever and every summer it takes tablets to help it. could this just be hayfever? today though it has cleared up a bit but you can still tell his left eye is annoying him a tad dont want to rush to the vets for it to be nothing.

cheers in advance guys.. please bring me good news Smile (Y)

sounds like could be pollen in his eyes which could be treated with washing eyes and an anti hystemine to calm down the reaction Big Grin Big Grin
but keep an eye on it and if seems to look worse trip to vets best as we can give advice but we are not experts;) Wink

I'm gonna hi-jack ur thread a little here. My daughter has piriton from time to time as she suffers with allergies. Hers is in liquid form. Could this be used for dogs? As in put onto food, and if so how much would u give??

Vinnie has had same probs with his eyes. I give him half a piriton usually. Do keep an eye on it (excuse the pun) though as Vinnie ended up with conjunctivitis and trip to the vets for drops. Try cold tea bags also they do seem to sooth it.Big Grin

Darcy has piriton tablets as she has allergies, 1/2 in the morning 1/2 in the evening i just pop it in a little ham or chicken, her eyes get a little weepy from time to time, I bathe with cooled boiled water and a cotton pad to refresh them Smile

yea my mum also said about the tea bags so she has been doing it every so often, i read in an other post about seasonal allergies that people prefer tesco or sainsburys own brand as piriton makes their dog sleepy.. i got tesco non drowsy and give him one a day and it seems to be clearing up Smile

Aww poor Boss. It could also be pink eye! Gwen got it about a month ago. It started as just a little bit of crust in her eyes in the morning but then after a day or two her right eye had crust around her whole eyelid. If it doesn't clear up in a day or two I would pop him over to the vet!
