A good mental session! Empty A good mental session!

I have to be honest - I've been a bit slack with the furbabies' training of late and more focused on their walks. But I do try to vary their activities as much as possible. So this afternoon at long last I got out the agility hurdles. Set them up and got some tasty treats. They did so well! They even sat next to each other and instead of both trying to jump the hurdles, they would wait their turn and jump/run when prompted. I then did a bit of obedience work with them and they were so eager to please and show me that they remember what to do. I then did a little bit of trick training like "paw," "rollover," "find the treat" etc. I think they are a little more tired from that hour of fun than they would be from a walk!

Never underestimate the power and importance of mental activity just as much as exercise for the pups!

Bad, bad mummy was too busy having so much fun with them and squealing her pride that she forgot to take pics.  Aw, well, just an excuse to have some more fun and get the camera out!

Here is the after pic though!

Couldn't agree more! Can take Moomin out for a 5 hour romp, get home and she wants to go again. Take her for a 5 hour romp and do an hours training in the middle, get home and she is knackered! We don't have a garden so at home its training games, they are a great way of stimulating there minds, staffs can go and go with all exersize, stimulate there minds and you have a clever happy tired dog Smile

Well done with the training session, my hubby recons it takes about 3 months for anything to sink in to the brain to stay there full time, so once something is learned it will be remembered but may just take a while to get there Big Grin
