Re: Incident in Birmingham
A bit crazy isn't it and a somalian man attacking in a mosque sounds like trouble in their own ranks , I heard it briefly on the news this morning and assumed it was a white on muslim attack and the policeman had got in the way

Re: Incident in Birmingham
Sounds like a mentally disturbed attack rather than a race related on - but just as terrifying!

Re: Incident in Birmingham
I assumed that this was a racial/religious thing as well.
Now we know that the attacker was a Somalian and has been assessed as mentally unstable.
I know a young Somalian, a Muslim, and he escaped his home country to find safety here. He is basically a very nice person, but is very unhappy and unfortunately since in the UK has been led onto paths he should not have gone down ie drugs. He can't talk about what he saw or experienced in Somalia.
We just can't begin to imagine what some people, who have sought sanctuary in our country, have experienced in their own country. Some people adjust and find peace, some find their demons taking control of them. I hope this Somalian gets the help he needs, and that those he attacked recover fully, and get the help they need to recover mentally as well as physically.

Re: Incident in Birmingham
My next door neighbour who is in his early 20's just come back from a family wedding in Birmingham. He got 2 nephews and walked them home to put them to bed. One was 7 and one 10. He said he just felt a thud in the side of his head, he looked and seen the kids running. the 7 year old got away but the 10 year old got booted. He got a kicking from about 10 lads also. I thought might have been racial after recent events, but they were asians who attacked him and my neighbour is also asian. Neighbour look a right mess, head got cracked open, 2 black eyes, broken nose, check bone, jaw and ribs. Sounds like Birmingham is getting worse
