Out of control humping
I rescued a staffy recently from a guy who obviously couldn't take care of him. He was a "I treat him the "natural way." meaning no good flea supplement that doesn't work for crap and his coat on his hips and a spot on his tail were nibbled thin. The fleas are gone now and im working on getting his coat back to normal. He didn't get enough exercise because his mass seems a little low for the average natural build of the breed. Don't get me wrong he is beautiful, but another thing concerns me. His testicles never dropped and it doesn't give him any pain or discomfort but for some reason he will not let up on trying to get it in with my mother in laws great pyrenise. I mean WONT LET UP!! It is a constant urge to get on her and ride that pony. To the point where if I have him outside he is stareing at the door for a couple minutes whineing to go back inside and get him some. But after a minute he will give up then goes rite back to it when he sees her again inside or if she comes out. Inside I gotta have his leash on him to hold him back. Is this related to the testicle issue in anyway? I will post picks soon.

Re: Out of control humping
Hi and welcome, I'm afraid I don't have a male dog so not the best person to advise on this, I would get him checked out by the vets as they haven't dropped may need removing.

Re: Out of control humping
Erm sorry but natural treatments can and DO work, i only use natural remedies on my two.
Has he ever been neutered, if his testicles didn't drop he needs to be neutered as they can turn cancerous still being inside him

I can only repeat that if you are sure that his testicles have not dropped (is it possible that he was neutered previously?) then it is important that a vet sees him - retained testicles will need treatment.
Regarding the humping - well he's a brave little Staffy to try it on with a mountain like a Pyranese! Was she in season recently? Otherwise, the whining etc is probably just him wanting to play with his pal, and the humping is just his way of saying "I'm your friend, but I'm the boss".
Well done for getting rid of his fleas!
Do let us know how you are getting on

Yes, if his testicles are reatained then he needs t see a vet because they could lead to cancer otherwise.
I doubt that the humping has much to do with that, though. I think it's more a case of over excitement & lack of socialisation - he has no idea about doggie manners!
How much exercise do you give him, nd what food does he get?

Re: Out of control humping
He eats "wellness" super 5 mix(actualy kind of expensive) but doesnt seem to like it. He gets around four or five 1/4 mile walks a day and gets playtime outside for most of the day. He has no aggression he actually backs up or hides if another dog shows aggressive toward him or snaps at him. He is one year and 9 months old I would actually like to have him be more socialize with other dogs if possible I want him to be able to spend time around other dogs to get that excitement to a good level if that's the case.

Re: Out of control humping
And by the way his thin spots from the bugs have actually been filling in very well and his weight is picking up a little bit and is starting to get a nice body structure with good tone. I will have pics up soon

Re: Out of control humping
Yay pics! Bagheera is a great name like out of jungle book. Natural remedies can work but only if you know what your doing! And yep sounds like hes just being naughty and doesnt know how to behave with the pyrenese. He is being cheeky and boistrous, is the pyrenese spayed? Perhaps you can take him to some doggy classes to get him used to interacting with and meeting new dogs xx
