JWB puppy
2 quick questions
I got another james wellbeloved puppy food for my dog but its another flavour,is that ok? i dont need to mix it for awhile with his other food or is it because its the same brand of food that it doesnt matter.
Also on this JWB kibble it says on the packet (ideal for pups up to 6 months of age),but my girl is telling me that the women in the pet shop says he should only have it till hes 12 weeks old, which is confusing

Re: JWB puppy
I think you should be fine changing to a different flavour, when darcy was on jwb we had to do this because they only had one flavour in the pet shop, I'm sure one of our members will let you know if it's not. Regarding the age on the packet I'd follow that for the required guidelines re puppy age and not the lady in the pet shop

Boss had a few problems for a few days from changing from turkey to duck for some reason? not sure if its the sudden change of he just didnt approve of duck but hope this helps as for the age bit.. i fed boss it until 5 months then changed to junior and was told to keep on the junior his whole life and not to bother changing to adult, im not saying thats correct but was what i was told to do. Boss is raw now anyway

Re: JWB puppy
I doubt there will be much, if any, problem just changing flavours unless he's intolerant of whatever the main meat source is.
As to the age - what qualifications does the woman in the pet shop have to advise? I'd ignore her, if I were you & go by the guidelines on the pack. After all, these companies have researched the food for years!

Re: JWB puppy
as a rule its okay to swap around the variants of a brand as its the rest of the ingredients that need a transition period. the exception is as Caryll points out an intollerance to the main protient source, like lamb, duck etc. some dogs are intollerant to lamb as others are to duck.
as for the pet shop advice, ignore it and use the pack guidlines as extensive research will have been carried out before the food is marketed. I know the staff at JWB feed there own dogs the food and report back to the company with coat health, energy etc. one of the few companies I trust tbh.

Re: JWB puppy
Thanks for the advice guys
I have about 2 days left of the other jwb so i have been mixing new with the old anyway just incase it shouldnt do any harm to do it anyway just incase.
And yes it did sound like weird advice considering its not the same as the advice on the packet,if it was me in the shop i would of challenged the comment but seeing as i go there now all the time for his food i will be asking her myself.
I do trust the packet and you lot on this forum way more
