Re: Anyone recommend this food?
It isn't bad food, but it's very gimmicky & way too much maize for my liking. You can get better for less!

I Agree with caryll. You can pick up better foods for less.

Agree with Caryll, way too much Maize in it which offers no nutritional value. However, there are a few people on this forum that use Pero and have had good results with it.
Personally, I've got Zeus on James Wellbeloved which he is doing really well on, if you look around, you can get a 15kg bag for around £40. I managed to get it for £37 from The Range, the other day.

No wouldn't recommend it far to much grain and not enough meat content

Re: Anyone recommend this food?
much better food for less? such as what because £40 for 15kg is not cheaper. when Boss was a pup he was fed JWB because it was easy to get from pets at home but atm hes on raw.. but sometimes hes fussy and wont eat it. I just would like a GOOD dry complete food that's reasonably priced and he will enjoy eating? i would continue raw because he eats them natural instinct frozen meals you can get in pets at home but they are like 100% chicken and with the raw diet your supposed to do a 80-10-10 as in 80% meat 10% bone meat and 10% offal and that confused me and im not always able to get it cheap.

Its not horrendous, one of our mods fed it, although they are now on raw also, if your struggling to get the dry you want I use www.chemistdirect.co.uk or www.petmeds.co.uk

If you have the money to get a freezer feed raw. Raw feeding is probably cheaper and in my opinion you can't get better quality than that. Can order meat and bones from places like Landywoods or DAF. Blue won't eat the raw packs your on about from PAH, but loves it from DAF. I just spent £65 and that will last me 3-4 months.

It could well be, you have to check the daily guideline amounts to see if its worthwhile or not. Food with less meat/protein content in, you'll have to feed more, which in turn will mean it won't last as long. Food with more meat/protein content in, you'll feed less and will last longer.

Have you thought about a fish based food? PAH do their own Fishmongers which has a good composition...

Feeding raw is easier than you think, but buying the packs of mince can complicate things. You really need to give meaty bones and some offal. That way you tend to get the ratio nearer the ideal.

Re: Anyone recommend this food?
yes caryll i was looking at the fish meals but i wouldnt want to buy a big bag encase he doesnt like it so maybe get a few of the 400g meals and see how he goes. i usually go toa local supermarket and just buy chicken thighs which are aroung 250g each its finding out how much liver and stuff to add that confuses me them mince dishes are so much more handy but like you say its confusing. im going to try some beef heart as its not offal, but muscle meat instead? so maybe just give chicken one day then beef the next and maybe them fish? would this be ok?
