Crate question Empty Crate question

Roxy has been pretty good with her toilet training so far, she has accidents at night on the kitchen floor, never in her crate, would it be acceptable to lock her in her crate overnight?

You could let her sleep in her crate. However if she is having accidents she probably can't hold it. I would set your alarm for 2 or 3am and get her out quickly then right back to sleep. She's still a baby and they don't get full control of their bladder until around 6 or 7 months. Gwen is 6 months old and occasionally she still needs to be taken out once in the middle of the night..most nights she can make it but there are rare times when she can't. When is Roxy's last meal/drink? Do you take her out before bed?

Dempsey was shut in his crate at night until he was about 18 months old because he's such a chewer! He used to go in there at about 11pm, but I'd get up at about 4am to let him out into the garden & then he'd go back to bed again!

Is there a reason you feed her so late at night? Just curious! We feed Gwen her last meal anywhere from 5:30-7 if we feed her any later she definitely isn't able to go all night without being taken out. This could be part of the problem. If possible I would try to feed her last meal a couple hours earlier!

Yeah I fed darcy like this at roxys age, perhaps try 6, 12, 4, 8 it may make a difference it may not, she'll soon learn to hold her self but as suggested earlier they can be 6/7 months. Smile

The reason we are feeding her 4 times a day is because she is not eating much each meal time, according to the JWB pack she should be eating about 195g a day.

Yesterday she ate

Breakfast 37g

Lunch 70g

Dinner 50

Supper 43g

A total of 200g, if we fed her 3 meals she would be eating about 150g

Id say darcy was about 5 months when we found she'd started to only eat 3 meals anyways so we spread her allowance say the 200g over 3 meals, now at 10 months she has 2 meals 8:30am & 6:30pm Smile
