Whatever you do do NOT go to turkey. A total * stinking horrible place that you will not get a mins peace from the men crowding around you saying "i marry you" and "buy my necklace"
If you are into culture, Rome is the most amazing place is the world. I really want to go back there again soon. Spain is very touristy, which isn't my thing.

Re: Holiday Destinations
In Tenerife we went to Costa Adeje it was failry quite as we did ask for non touristy places, we visited Loro Park which was OK. The hotel we stayed in was lovely it was the one below and right on the beach the Guayarmina Princess Hotel 4* :

We were there a week before Christmas, walking along the beach in shorts and T Shirt at 24 oC gorgeous. Bit of a shock when we got off the plane to freezing fog

seeing sight, swimming a pool and sitting in the sun isn't my cup of tea i can do all that here
Re: Holiday Destinations
Turkey wasnt the nicest of places i wont be going back there!
Ive looked at Princess Hotel before Kathy, looks lush...that could be a possibility.
Bulgaria is an up and coming place so could be an option as well.
And Croatia...ahh so many options. Thanks for the ideas

Re: Holiday Destinations
Back to Kita - she wants sun sea and sand and things to do. IMHO you can't beat Greece. Scenery galore and plenty of ancient sites etc to look at, if that's your thing. Minimal hassle outside the main "party places". The only problem is that she wants an all-inclusive place of which I have zero experience, but they seem to be large (well, they'd have to be wouldn't they, to make pay) and in the more populous places, and may conceivably attract the party crowd .
The Carribean has plenty of all-inclusive places, and is generally beautiful, but I've only been to Jamaica there. the all-inclusive people stuck to their own enclaves (you do get hassle in Jamaica, but it's banned in the enclaves).
If water sports are your thing, then they seem to be available at the all-inclusives, both in Greece and the Carribean.
Lucky you Kita, have a great time wherever you pick!

Re: Holiday Destinations
The one I've booked to Kos wasn't too expensive, especially to say I'm going in School Hols, it's room only though not all inclusive, we didn't look at that.

I did SC over 20 years ago to Kardamena and seem to recall about 3 drachma for a pint on the front and 2 up the back street just can't remember how much a drachma was

Re: Holiday Destinations
I can't remember how much a drachma was then either Dave, but we got a lot to the £ , and Greece was a good value holiday then, I went many places many times. Then they went over to the Euro, and I got into such a hopeless muddle with it that I once left a tip at a taverna for a meal, which I thought was 10% but was in fact 100% ! No wonder they waved and smiled at me every time I walked past!
