Hi has anyone got any advice, my female is 8 months old, and every time we take her out for a run shes consistent and doesn't stop running after balls and toys ect for the length of time were out. When we get back home shes always limping on her right paw, to the extent that last night she kept crying out whilst in her sleep. Be grateful for any advice.
Many thanks andrea

take her to the vet to get her checked out , if this was a one off then would suggest other things such as checking her paws etc but if you say she is always like this then she should be checked over

It could be that at her age she's getting too much exercise! By all means go go the vet, but I'd also sugest resting her for two weeks first. Short lead walks & plenty of mental stimulation in the meantime.

I would try resting her first, sometimes they don't know when to stop! My brothers lab would literally run himself to death if he allowed him! If it doesn't improve I would take her to the vet to be checked out!

Aww bless, they are such a worry, as said, if you go to the vets they will suggest resting first if there is nothing visible and give you pain killers, I would leave it a few days I think 2 weeks is too llong and then introduce exersize slowly and no stop/start action and see how she goes, if still the same then vets.

dogs do make alot of noise while asleep so dont get to hung up on that.
is she lifting it at a particular joint? weight bearing at all? to be honest it sounds like what everyone else has suggested and a bit of rest needed. it could be anything from a toe to joint injury and unless your confident of doing a good check then the vet is best option. its a 65/35 weight bearing for a staff on front/hind legs so it stands to reason that over work will target the front legs first. hope she feels better soon Love Struck

Agree with the above advice about resting her first then take her to the vet if her paw is still sore in a couple of days time. However do want to add that it is up to you to ensure she doesn't overdo it. Our puppy would play fetch non-stop for 24 hours a day if we let him but it's up to us to know when he's had enough. Otherwise he'd just run himself into the ground!

Good luck & hope she's okay!
