A dog will normally sleep if it has nothing to do. It's the same in the wild - an animal that has excercised or eaten will lay down & snooze!

Is it Shay you're talking about? If she's happy & lively, eating & drinking ok, then she's perfectly normal!

Yeah i think its normal. Bruno sleeps most of the morning and some afternoon unless i take him for a walk or play with him, he really wakes up when my children are home or is that he don't have a chance to sleep when they home Laughing then after his dinner at 6pm , he have a hour or so then run around like a mad thing Laughing

I think mostly every dog is different, however staffords do love to snooze. Skibadee is always in bed, she takes herself off to the bedroom at about 10pm every night and you cannot physically drag her out until after 11am the next morning. Tali on the other hand doesn't stop, she stays awake with my OH til about 1/2 am and is up with me at 7.30am! Every time someone leaves the house she has to be there, she doesn[t sit still no wonder she can't put on any weight!

I think maybe today it cud be down to the weather as it is quite hot here, but she generally spends all of her time in her bed unless on a walk or eating/drinking. ne ideas on how to perk her up a bit or shud i jus be content with a dog thts not awake 24/7?!!!

Jethro is almost permanently up on the lounge asleep. He does go outside for wees and poos, and I take him for a few walks every day..mind you he is 12 !! Though it is winter here and he hates the cold... he goes out abit more in the warmer weather.....

Winston's day is eat..play...sleep..eat .. play .. sleep and so it goes on....
