Re: help about barking for attention
Ledger does this when he isn't the centre of my attention and it's a fine line between rewarding him for being quiet and encourraging the behaviour so also interested in the replies to this

Re: help about barking for attention
we saw a one to one trainer about louby's barking and she said the only way to combat it, is to ignore it, and it will get louder and longer as your dog tries to get your attention even more, but very soon they realise it isnt working and should stop doing it. But it is very annoying, and if you have neighbours it may be a good idea to explain to them what is happening & that its a new training thing you are doing, so they dont complain.

Re: help about barking for attention
Had they exact same problem and still do, even though it has been getting better.
I agree with the given advise, the best thing is to completely ignore it, not even look at them. It can be damn hard sometimes though!

Re: help about barking for attention
When it happens leave, only stay and play with her if shes quiet. But dogs like to bark when they are playing

Re: help about barking for attention
Darcy will do this when she likes a little attention, but prob only once a day, so it's not a problem for me, but I'd try to ignore the behaviour as Hayley says above they do like to bark when they're excited

You can also try teaching the quiet command but as said definately don't reinforce the behaviour by giving them attention
