What does your dad do? Have you told him to turn away & ignore him till he's on all 4 paws?

Re: alfie still jumps up
Probably cause he doesn't see him as often as he sees you!
It's exactly the same, though - turn away & ignore & keep turning away until he's down on all 4 paws. If he still carries on jumping up, then you should step in with a "Down" (or whatever word you use), take his collar & lead him away for a while. Then try again.

I'm still coming up to this problem, it's hard to get people to follow the same method as you do yourself!

Yup trying to get your friends and family to follow on as you do is hard. Diesel always sits at my feet and waits for attention but she jumps on everyone else cause they fuss her when she does

Re: alfie still jumps up
Yes I have no problems with Bella jumping on me as I turn away and ignore her but she get's really excited with visitors and sometimes pee's too. I feel like a bossy boots telling them to ignore her and turn around until she has 4 paws on the floor. This is a simple concept right? People just don't get it - even after they had it 'explained' to them. As soon as she comes up to them they pat her even when she's jumping - it drives me nuts - and so I'm back to the nagging!

Re: alfie still jumps up
When anyone walks in tell them to ignore your dog. If necessary push her down once and say 'down'. if she continues just push her down and ignore her, dont make eye contact. It does take time and practice. Then when she is calm give lots if love and a treat. This worked really well with jess. She now just comes to the door, turns around and flys to the kitchen looking patiently at the treat jar!!! Needless to say visitors find this hilarious! Good luck
