babysitting
My brother has a staffy called Bella and he has asked if we will look after her for one night next week. Louby & Bella get on really well, go on regular walks together, i take Lou to their house so they can play in the garden together, but Bella has never been to our house, as their garden is much bigger than ours.
Last weekend i met up with a friend who has a rhodesion ridgeback, and is a lovely dog, so i thought it would be good for Lou to get to know other dogs, and Indy is the kind of dog you can 'test' out for socialising. Anyway, after a wee growly start from Lou it went really well, let them off lead together etc, but when we got back to their house, Indy got really snarly towards Lou when we went in the garden, her owner was shocked that she did that, mever seen her do it before.
So im thinking that there is a potential for Lou to be like that when Bella comes round. I definately think its a good idea to try it our first before the day she is staying...
Any advice? thanks x

Re: babysitting
I agree try them out a few times on louby's home turf, perhaps just a short time at first and increasing the time together.

Re: babysitting
Well it didnt go well, having Bella come to us for a practice run - Louby got really boisterous, bella went on her back as usual while they were playing in the house, but Louby kept nipping Bella under her chin, and she made Bella yelp, which bella never cries out..this made the usually gentle bella get abit boisterous back, and it got abit too much, they didnt fight, but there was ALOT more noise than usual and we nipped it in the bud as we didnt like the way it was going...
We had walked them together first which was ok as usual...

Re: babysitting
Just try, can't ask any more than that. Its only one night anyway so wouldnt be too much bother to keep them seperate should you need to
