If the father is a big boy and mother is small what generally happens in the litter.

Would males follow the fathers looks and size and females nere like there mother,or possible the male being some where inbetween.

I hope the dad wasn't very much bigger than the mum! Surprised

You could get a mixture. It doesn't necessarily follow that the bitch pups will be small & the dog pups will be large.

If the size difference is too big you could end up with pups that are too large for the dam to bear naturally, therefore needing a caesarian. It's much better to 'match' the sire & dam for size/proportions, although obviously the sire will almost always be bigger than the dam - that's nature.

It will vary in the litter. Some may exhibit the size traits of the sire and some may exhibit the size traits of the dam. There are also likely to be some inbetween sizes. Smile
