Roxy's Diary
I have decided to keep a diary for Roxy here, as a reminder to us on her growth and development and something to look back on in years to come.
Roxy's Birthday is the 15/03/13
We got Roxy on 11th May 2013, She was 8 weeks when we got her, she was not registered and pretty small for her age, we bought her home with us, we had her create in place for her and had many discussions about our plan of action before we got her.
We decided she would be confined to the kitchen while training and bought into the living room for association time with the family.
She settled right in from day one, our 3 children love spending time with her and she pleased us on a daily basis.
We have had concerns about her with her eating and her authenticity as a STB as you may have seen elsewhere on the forum, the eating thing seems to be hit and miss at the mo but she looks in proportion is playful and does not seem in bad shape, she is eating but she eats quantities she wants to eat. As for her being a full SBT or not does not matter to us as she is now part of the family.
Training, After 2 and a half weeks she is toilet trained, she still wets in the house due to bladder control but all poo's are done outside, she will scratch at the back door to let us know. she will also now sit and stay on command. A great start to her training.
She had her first injections on the 18th May 2013 and was weighed then at 2.39KG still very small for her age. She is due the second lot on Sunday 1st June we will weigh her then and see what she has gained although she is growing rapidly.
We can not wait to take her out for walks so she can start her mini adventure exploring the world.
This is Roxy at 8 weeks, the day we got her.
This is Roxy one week later at 9 weeks.
And Roxy at 10 weeks.
I would also like to thank the good people of this forum for the help they have offered me so far, Being a parent to a new pup can make you worry about things, we are trying to worry and questions things less now and continue with what is important.

Re: Roxy's Diary
Our little boy Hayden has always been a little nervous around dogs, this is the reason we got a pup rather than a rescue dog so they could grow together, if he wasn't as nervous we would have rescued.
They are now best buddies

Roxy seems to be putting on some weight now, she has her second jabs tomorrow and I am looking forward to seeing what she weighs now.
She loves spending loads of time in the garden and we are looking forward to the day she can go out for walks and runs.

Roxy is just back from the vets for her second jabs, she has put on 1.5 KG in two weeks, we are really pleased with that, she is now at 3.75KG.
The vet gave her a good check over and seemed really happy with her progress.
We also bought her a medium stag bar and she loves it.

Roxy was introduced to a playmate today, she met Peppa, the wifes cousins 2 year old staffy.
They got on really well and played for a good couple of hours problem free.

Roxy went for her first walk today, Everything went fine, she sat at roads, she was taking everything in, sights, sounds and peoples attention.
About half way round things changed, she decided my jeans looked tasty and decided to start biting at the base of them, latching on and not letting go, I got her off and within a minuet she was back on them again. This happened 3 or 4 times without her listening to my pleads of "NO".
I ended up picking her up and walking the rest of the way.
Picking her up was probably a mistake on my half. I think this was just puppy play and with practice it will improve.

Roxy, Roxy, Roxy, tut tut tut. Roxy is defiantly teething bitting everything in sight, she can not seem to keep her teeth off anything at the mo, today she decided to do some DIY in the kitchen.
On a positive note I took her out for a good 15 min walk tonight and it went much better than yesterday, She walked with me, sat at roads when told and she left my jeans alone completely. A positive step.

Roxy is now 15 weeks old and a real handful, playful, mischievous but a massive part in our lives now, she is now weighing about 6.1 KG, still on the small side.

Roxy is now 19 weeks old.
Everyday we notice changes in her, we are working on recall with her, she is not great with it yet but is learning, she will now sit off the lead and wait when told when people are walking past.
She is such a sociable little girls, loves playing with other dogs and loves attention from everybody, so far we have had no negative experiences while out and about.
She is still gaining weight now at 8.4KG, she looks healthy and full of life.
It feels like we have had her forever even though she has only been with us for 11 weeks.
The biting has got loads better, yes she still play bites but is learning right from wrong.
As I type this she is sitting on the back doorstep catching the morning sun.
She loves our kids.
