Deez and the hedgehog!
Oh my! What an evening.
We have had Deez, a rescue since September, he is a real gentle soul and isn't at all aggressive. This evening he went out for a wee, (he normally goes for afew later in evening, before bed) when my partner starts screaming for me to come and check as Deez is doing something in the garden, I run out to find Deez has a curled up hedgehog in his mouth, he won't drop it, and runs into house with it. I run after him, scoop it up with a blanket and fee the poor little bugger. Deez got a flea treatment and a rollocking! (I have since been out to check on the hedgehog, who has made his way to freedom!)
Safe to say, we are all a little shook up!

Re: Deez and the hedgehog!
Haha Chance is obsessed with our pet hedgehogs, but Harvey will sit quite happily next to them and let them walk all over him

Oh dear poor hedgehog, must have been rather scared! Glad Deez didn't hurt the hedgehog and vice-versa

Kenny just barks at them, does little run backwards, before sneaking up and give a girly bark, before running away again

I haven't seen a hedgehog for years, we have badgers round here and apparently they eat them?!

Re: Deez and the hedgehog!
My last staffy Zac got hold of a hedgehog in the garden one night ... not a pretty sight I'm afraid .. he had spines stuck just about everywhere, and the poor little hedgehog didnt make it

Re: Deez and the hedgehog!
Oh no! Luckily Deez seemed to think it was a variation on his kong toy! He didn't really bite it, more carry it around and smell/snuffle it. Deez's mouth and gums seem ok, so I think it was a lucky escape for all concerned!
