Just though you should know...
As some of you may know, we have recently lost our beloved fur-baby, Guinness. We didn't know whether to get another dog as we didn't want to go through the pain of losing a loved one again. However, we had much love to give and we thought we could get another unfortunate pup and raise her and give her a wicked life also. Even though it hadn't been that long after Guinness left this world, an opportunity arose where a staffy pup needed a home and was poorly treated, she was very nervous when we got her (yesterday). Fate?? So we took Sapphire in and here she is, 10 weeks and 2 days old today.


Please give me your thoughts in relation to too soon? fate? good thing??

Everybody deals with a loss differently and so for y'all, I don't think it is too soon. If Sapphire can help you, and you are certainly giving her a good home, I think it is lovely! She looks like a sweety!

How can it not be a 'good thing'? You have lots of love to give and Sapphire
needs a loving home and someone to love in return after a bad start in life. Sounds to me like it was meant to be.

I don't think it's too soon, it's only to soon if you feel it is. Doesn't matter what others think. After Zac died, it was over a year before we got Loki. Took me about six months after his death for me to want another dog, but for some people, it really helps you cope with that loss so soon after a loved one is taken from you. So no worries Sapphire is beautiful, well done for giving her a loving home.

I'm sure Guinness would say you have done the right thing, loving owners are always there when they are needed, enjoy your time together

Thank you all, its made me feel so much better x We are going to Newquay next week, Guinness was suppose to go but she didn't make it bless her soul, so Sapphie is coming now. Will take pics and post them in Doggy Holidays. She probably won't have her injections in time so unfortunately, she will be carried everywhere. I don't know what that's going to be like :S she is a very nervous dog anyways so won't mind being held hopefully x

How did you hear of her/find her.

You have just potentially saved a life. That is an incredible thing to do. And I'm sure Guinness would approve!

We got Sapphie via a friend of a friend of a friend... but the owner is only interested in breeding them for the kaching kaching, not interested about the dogs themselves. The people that he sells to are probably the same if you catch my drift? She was a nervous wreck and shes scared of hands. Over the past 2 days, shes got a lot more confidence and adjusting to hands, still not 100% yet but with lots of cuddles and kisses im sure she will trust us x

congrats , she's a little beauty and good on you for the rehoming , loads of toilet stops on the way to Newquay we took Tommy to Liskeard last year and he was about 15 weeks , travelled fine in the car , much more confident than Tilly who shook all the way apart from when she was sleeping.

Hope you get some good weather , we're off to Liskeard tomorrow and it doesn't exactly look like we will be in the tropics

So gorgeous - how could you not take her in...i dont think its too soon, if it feels right. Its only in our heads that we feel thr guilt that we are 'replacing' the other so quickly, but i know thats not the case, a previous pooch can never be replaced.
Our last dog, Ben, died last May, he was 16 years old, he had been in our family all that time, so we were devastated when we lost him. Louby i believe was fate when we got her, she followed mum home from the shop last Nov, and the previous owners didnt want her back. She was meant to find us, just as your new baby was meant to find you. x
