Gnat bites
I live near marshland so gnats and nadgers are rife round here - anyway, saw a gnàt on the Diesèl today and yep, she's got a huge bite/lump on top of her head.
Also found one on her thigh.
poor girl looks irritated, scratching etc. might give her half a piriton later - will see how she goes.
Anyway - is there any sort or repellant we can use on dogs ? She's on garlic tabs everyday - but obviously that's making no difference.

Re: Gnat bites
I didn't know gnats would bite dogs! What little b*****s.
I have a river at the bottom of my garden so I often get bitten, but so far touch wood have not had a dog bitten. I put Anthisan cream on my bites to stop the itching (it's an anti-histamine cream) but don't know off-hand if it's safe to use on dogs.

Re: Gnat bites
I see the gnats landing on the dogs. They are big ones this year and out all day - not just evening when most likely to get bitten.
