extreme sports on holiday
Why would you go to a foriegn country and do extreme activities like paragliding etc. They don't have H&S anybody can set them up. i would never ever forgive my partner/friend/family if they went up and did something like that and the harness snapped cause its not looked after. Don't do these!!!!!

I agree. Isn't worth getting seriously hurt, just for a bit of a thrill.

I must admit, I did paragliding in Turkey, probably not the cleverist idea I've ever had but luckily I lived to tell the tale!
The older I get the more cautious I'm becoming!!

Yeah stuff like that don't bother me. I work in the building industry and TBH H&S has kind of lost it effect after having to work in the middle of a field in the middle of nowhere with steal toe capped boots, gloves, high viz, ear protectors, hard hat, dust mask and goggles

On holiday I don't see the problem with it, just have to make sure it isn't dodgy. Jumping out of a helicopter looks fun

It was one were they strapped his feet to the floor & stretched the bungee from a crane then released it and he flew into the air

Re: extreme sports on holiday
I would enjoy it. But any time I've ever been on holiday, or on a beach, or generally off work I'm too drunk to do much else except lay down

Well I will be in training to be 1 of the company H&S advisors soon
Many years ago as an apprentice I got accosted by our H&S officer who shouted up to me as I was standing on my tiptoes on the edge of a safety box , on top of a forklift truck reaching out to change a light fitting in our factory with no safety harness on , what did he ask me to do ??? Put on my safety glasses
A week later on Summer shutdown , 1 of the lads fell through a suspended ceiling breaking his leg on the way down and knocking himself out on a filing cabinet ................it was the Safety officer's office

Re: extreme sports on holiday
I skydive and the weather is much better abroad so I tend to go to jump there (mostly Spain but also been to Dubai, Czech Republic, USA and Nicaragua), as anything do a bit of research before you go and have the insurance that covers re-patriation but then looking at some of these what happens in Kavos shows you would be much more at risk there!
