red skin
Bruno has developed red skin and bald patches around the neck and chest area, bruno never had this problem 3 months ago, its something that has just developed the last few weeks, we have changed his food to wainwrights and he use's avdvocate for fleas (he don't have flea's), we do leave him in the day while we work (could it be stress), i am going to book a vet visit this week, but i must say i don't trust vets lol, can dogs just develop mange or is this something i'm doing?

Re: red skin
Can you get a pic on here so that we can see what it looks like?
As it's now spring (believe it or not ) the sap is rising in the grass etc & dogs can often gets reactions to that.
Is there anything that could be rubbing her neck/chest area?

Re: red skin
Some dogs do react badly to Advocate & that could be what's happening here. Try leaving the Advocate for the next couple of months & see if it helps. In the meantime you could try giving him half a Piriton tablet twice a day. If that helps, then I'd say it's definitely an allergy of some sort. Possibly grass sap, possibly Advocate, possibly even the change in food.

Re: red skin
I must admit that looks like a rub. It's possible that the collar wasn't fitting properly. Do you normally keep it on him 24/7?

Re: red skin
yeah he has it on all the time, so we could grab him if need be, but he don't need it on really, as we walk him with a none pull face harness

Re: red skin
I'd leave the collar off unless you go out with him. It could well be rubbling, and whites often have slightly more sensitive skin than other colours.
