Three of my cousins came over today. They live with a foster mum, so we get to see them every month or so; they're the only kids Loki interacts with, because the rest of our family with young kids live ages away. Anyway, we had him on the lead while he sees them, and after a while of trying to jump up, he just sat in front of the youngest one and let her stroke him! Then we went for a walk with them and my mum, and again, he just happily walked by them all while they patted him, no jumping up. And then back home, one of them put out her hand for him to lick, and he just licked. He usually takes the opportunity to nip, but he didn't, not even once Big Grin very, very proud of them. Haven't seen this much progress since I realised his biting was decreasing. This is his biggest problem, really, so I'm happy it's slowly fading away.

I reckon in a few weeks (OK, months) he might actually be trusted not to bite people and jump up, so if kids ask if they can stroke him, I don't have to explain his puppy-biting Big Grin YAY!

Very pleased to read that Loki is doing so well with the little people, as if he seems to know they are children and to be more gently with them, well done

Thanks everyone Big Grin he's such an excitable boy, it's been the hardest thing to train him with. Even though there's lots more work left to be done, I'm very proud of him. He's come a long way Love Struck

I love reading your posts Tara because our dogs are similar in age and personalities!

Good for you and Loki. I still don't allow small children pet Bacon as he does the jump/lunge and biting thing. Hopefully it won't be a long time before we make the same progress as Loki.

Congrats to the both of you!!!

Good boy Loki! Vinnie is much the same but keeping him on the lead and giving visitors treats defo helps. I bet you are so proud of him. Big Grin
