No interest........
So after reading all the reviews on Stagbars I decided to buy one for Doug. He's a chewer so I brought the extra Large bar (to be honest it was no large at all but is solid!) and he has almost no interest in it! I was really surprised as I thought he would love it!
Any ideas as to why he has almost no interest and how I can get him interested?

Re: No interest........
It might take a while, some people say to wet them or soak them in tea. My girls love them

Re: No interest........
Try smearing a little peanut butter or a tiny bit of marmite on the end to get him interested in it.

Re: No interest........
Ive heard to soak them in cold water over night, not sure what it does mind. It took a while with my pooch, he chewed it when there was nothing else to do.

I've tried peanut butter but he just licked it off then discarded the antler!
I'll try soaking it in tea tonight, Doug does like a cup of tea!

Re: No interest........
Loki's first one lasted months because he'd only chew it when he was really bored, like at night when he was meant to be sleeping. Now he chews it a couple of times a day hopefully he'll start chewing it when he's bored and then he'll see it's fun.

Apparently soaking it in cold water overnight softens it slightly & releases the smells that dogs like!

darcy had 2 one she takes or leaves and the other from (antler dogs online) she loves perhaps different types are more attractive to them

I must admit that the fallow deer antlers are much more popular with Dempsey than the others.

I have not been able to get Daisy interested in hers either!! It's been soaked overnight in cold water several times and smothered in cheese spread but all she did was lick it off!!
I had not heard of the tea thing though so will soak it in tea overnight
