Fun to look at all the pics from when the kids first came home...
Boy, just looking at the differences from when they first came home till now... Ahhh. Picture moment.
Monte:
Frosty (Monte was ready to welcome him right off!):
Pigglette (she wasn't quite sure she liked the new boys yet...):
She didn't like to be walked at first so this is how she did it...
Shortly after they all settled in together:
A defining moment (or trip) when they all became inseparable:
Now we are one big happy family!
What a trip down memory lane...

Are they all rescues? Ah, I love the picture of them all together on the trip, Monte looks very proud and protective. All beautiful you should really post more of them. I agree though, it's great to look at the old pictures and notice the differences and look back.

How did you choose them? Did you get them together? The little white one (not sure which one it is?) looks so sweet in his/her (?) little crate.
Do you remember those first few days and the thoughts you had? I always wish I had kept a diary although I have photos. I know what you mean about "defining moment".

It's always interesting to look back at how they were when they first came home. We have a picture of Rocky when he was still at the rescue centre somewhere but I'm not able to find it

That is Frosty (my youngest). He wasn't even one yet when he came home and yes, I remember each homecoming quite well! Frosty had the most difficult journey as each came on a plane but Frosty freaked out and tried to chew his way out of the crate and had to have two teeth pulled while on a layover. Needless to say, he was doped up and a bit sore when he got to me a day late.
I got all my dogs from back East (I'm on the West Coast of the USA). Really was that I saw each one and heard their stories and knew they would fit in and they have!

That's amazing you took a risk from a Rescue centre description. I am so happy it worked out for you. What was it about their stories that touched you? I always read the descriptions of homeless dogs on dogsblog.com. I find them fascinating and the more I read, the more I wonder how anyone can buy a puppy from a breeder.
My sister lives on the West Coast of the US - California - there seem to be lots and lots of bull breed crosses around. I was told that in Los Angeles it is considered "uncool" to buy a pedigree puppy i.e. cool to get a rescue. Everyone has such sweet stories of how they found their dog - although a worrying number seem to be randomly picked up off the street by their future owners.
I also noticed that there are many more dogs over there being used as guard dogs. Anyone with a garden seems to have a barking dog in it. Some of the dogs look quite frustrated and underexercised - hurling themselves against the gate or fence. There also seem to be many more dogs with cropped ears. I even saw a Great Dane with cropped ears which I have never seen before. Why do people crop their dog's ears? Does it do something for the dog? I love my dog's floppy velvety ears but I expect that's partly cultural.
