Average price for staffy pup

Just intrested in what people are being charged and for what colour they have. Ino blue is more expensive but im wondering how much more.

Blues shouldn't be any more expensive than any other colour. They're not rare!

The price you pay will obviously depend on whether or not the pups are registered with the KC, and if they are, whether they have champions in their bloodlines.

I think prices range from about £450 - £600 ish for a good registered pup from health tested parents.

Ya dats what i was thinking, i paid €500 for lola who is blue and is registered and health tested. Dont tink there is any champions in the bloodlines but i dont care about that.

Skye was advertised for 600 I managed to negotiate and get her for 500. Shes blue and is kc registered x although I would have paid 600. Just like to try my luck :-)

Ive seen them for sale for as little as €150 and the blue pups up to €1200.

Blue is not a special colour, they are stunning but you pay for there breeding history. Moo is a rescue so as for prices I haven't a clue.

Ya evn if i could afford it i wouldnt pay over the odds for any dog.

Over here about £350-£400 for a good registered/ health tested pup. I've seen up to £1500 for untested blue/blue mated pups though.

If the dog was unregistered I wouldn't pay anymore than about £100 which is the general price most rescues over here ask. If I wasn't looking a registered dog a rescue centre would be the only option I'd even consider however.

I think it depends on area. I'm in the North East and blues go for about £500 other good KC reg pups go for about £200. My Lola cost me £150 I bought her at 5months and her pedigree is excellent better than Lily's(blue KC) who I paid a lot more for However Lily is health tested and Lola isn't

Here in Australia you often see blue puppies advertised for a higher price than others, even when the blue pups come from the same litter as the pups of another colour It is just a popular colour at the moment (A pet shop close to us had unregistered blue pups advertised for $1000 and they all sold in two weeks).

Over here advertised prices can range anywhere between about $800 and $2700 depending on the breeder, the bloodlines and whether the pups will be on a limited or full register.

As Kell said it is ridiculous over here I have met many people who have bought their blue pups for well over $2000 which is about 1300gbp

Wow that is crazy, ud want a gold dog for that money.

All pups should be sold for the same amount regardless of colour, you should not be charged any more for a blue than any other colour.

I would always get a dog from a rescue centre and not a registered dog anyway, that's just me though.

The prices here are crazy, especially when you research organisations like staffy rescue in sydney who have a steady flow of dogs come through. I had no idea what I was doing when I bought Oswald so he is byb. I was naive and though you only needed a paper pedigree dog if you planned to show or breed. Not that I would change him for the world. He is the most amazing dog <3

I know it is ridiculous Mel.. I was the same.. I wouldn't change Steff for anything, but I wish I knew then what I know now.. Staffy Rescue in Sydney have such a high flow of rescues come through there doors But even adopting a Staffy through them is gonna cost $300+

Like already said in UK you shouldn't be paying anymore for it's colour.

I tought i paid alot but looking at what other people are saying it wasnt bad.

Not just in UK Mike.. Nowhere should a blue be worth more than another colour.. Breeding and health is the most important.. Not colour

i payed either £650 or £700 for memphis and dont begrudge a penny of it thou when i get my next one i wont be paying for couler just COI and ped so looking around £500

£650 to me is reasonable for a well bred pup - when you think what goes into it, the health testing, the special care during prgnancy, the birth & 8 weeks afterwards, £650 is value for money!

I also think that the breeder you choose is important - some may charge more or less than others but not all of them are breeding for the right reasons and are willing to provide the pre-puppy information and post puppy support that others do.

Prices for staffy range from 0-£250 for an unregistered and for kc registered £300-£700. These are prices based on online research. Also no matter how many people say prices shouldn't be based on coat colour it almost always does.

Grrr! Growls lol! Blue pups should NOT be charged at an extra price! They are NOT rare! In fact, becoming the latest fashion 'trend.' Pups should be no more than £650 with a pedigree.

And please check for the percentage of inbreeding on the KC website.

PS: I've learned that Blue mated with Blue, can result in a gene dilution. And they can get skin problems. Black mated with blue, is better...

I'm no expert mind you. And there are MANY people here more qualified in this area. But, it's the research I've done myself.

A good, responsible breeder who breeds purely for the betterment of the breed & to produce good, healthy, strong pups will not cgarge different prices for difefrent colour pups. Neither will they breed specifically for a certain colour.

There are plenty of good, responsible breeders out there - you just have to make an effort to look for them!

If Lola'd dad was blue & her mum was white/brown then that's fine!

Pups are so much cheaper in the UK than they are here in the US! A register staffy pup here would cost no less than $1200 and up to around $2000! Unregistered pups are anywhere from $100-$500!

You are correct. I paid $1600 USD for Bart and I saw plenty around the same price and greater with suspect pedigree lines.

We we got Otis the breeder wanted £300, he is KC reg. His mother is black/brindle and his dad is blue.

Whilst we were looking I continually came across bank crippling prices for blue pups. I quickly realised that this was because of the popularity and to be honest I was put off.

I think it's crazy that just because of colour they can charge such prices.
