Does a staffy need wet food or would a dry food do with a treat of some raw meat a couple of days a week?

Dry food is fine on it's own, you can always top it with a bit of wet food, or some fish or egg. Raw has a different digestion time to dry but as a treat is fine yes Smile

You will see from the various threads that everyone feeds differently.

Here some dry food recommendations if your looking into that

We feed darcy dry food, with raw occasionally & not a the same time, different digestion times as sazzle said above. She also has some raw egg & sardines occasionally Smile

Are the raw egg and sardines put in with the dry food?

I'd recommend not adding wet food to the dry, tbh. It's mainly water so there's not too much nutrition value to it.

If your dog doesn't like dry food on its own, then you can always put a raw egg on top, or a couple of sardines in oil (or tomato sauce if your dog likes it).

If you want to give a bit of raw meat occasionally that's fine, but preferably not in their dry food as the two have different digestion times & it could upset his stomach. Don't forget, though, that you'll have to reduce his dry food a bit if you do add anything to it; you don't want a fatty! Big Grin

I feed them separate because there raw, but you can mix some cooked sardines in occasionally, I most give her dry food on its own with a tea spoon of salmon oil Smile hope this helps, I'm sure someone with a little more experience will be along shortly Big Grin

The egg and the cooked sardines can be put in with the dry food. If you want to give raw sardines (or raw meat of any sort) then it's best to give them at different times to the dry.
