Hi All ! Gone from 0 to 2 :-0 with pics
Hi,
My Name is Martin & my old Staffy was Taz hence the username.
I lost my Taz 2 years ago at the age of 17 , I had him from a pup & had 17 glorious years with him, he was here before my children & even my kids respected that, the only time he even hurt anyone was when it was his time & broke our hearts.
I was unsure if I would get another dog but my father in law had 3 dogs & they were fighting regular (Springer Spaniels) & we fostered the eldest dog , but due to circumstances we couldn't keep him & he went to my wife's sister, it seemed nice having a dog about & I started to think maybe another Pup ? Then at Xmas last year we looked after neighbours Pattendale Terrier for the night & my kids & me haven't stopped going on to my wife about getting another dog lol, seeing my missus & me work it would be hard to take on a pup even though my missus does not work a full day & i work shifts.... so the pup idea started to drift away but at Christmas last year I spotted an advert on pets4homes that had blue long legged Staffys & the Mum & Dad looked beautiful , but at the time a pup was out of the question because i just started a new job & we just had builders starting an extension on our house, I left it a good few weeks when I knew all the pups would be sold & asked the breeder to let me know when if/or they where having another litter & if possible to let me know, in which they said they would get in touch if they had more pups...............
Anyway I got a phone call from the breeder the week before last saying that due to certain circumstances they could no longer keep the dogs !!! & would I be interest in buying them , I quickly said I preferred a pup but would talk to my wife & they said no problem maybe think about it ? before i spoke to my wife I thought she would never take on older dogs (3 Years old) let alone 2 ! But she said It would make sense to have older dogs due to whats happening in our lifes at the moment I couldnt believe it ! , after a few more phone calls we arranged a trip to Nottingham from Kent with my wife & children, we arranged to spend the day with the owners & the dogs to see if it was good for boths sides... needless to say the day went really well & we come home with 2 beautiful Staffys (Diesel & Skye )
It really felt like it was meant to be as my son & me already had Diesel as a pup name & due to our work patterns leaving 2 dogs that get on for a few hours a day would fit in just right. So far so good & loving them to bits >< heres to some more glorious years of having Staffys

Hello and welcome to the forum from me and the kids
Well done on rescuing these 2 , it sounds like you don't know you did it but believe me this is pretty typical of the calibre of people on sites such as Pets 4 Homes.
No such thing as long legged staffys , these are dogs outside of breed standard , maybe x with something else (do you have papers ?) , not saying this applies to your 2 , the couple of pics I can see look like little crackers , and its just an advertising trick to make them seem appealing to people not in the know

Re: Hi All ! Gone from 0 to 2 :-0 with pics
Welcome they are both absolutely stunning, but to be completely honest, sounds like the person you got them from wasn't the best person to get a dog from. Then again, taking on two older dogs is different than getting two pups from a dodgy breeder, so could be worse, and they do look nice and happy. Well done on giving them a loving home, and don't be stingy with the pics, we do love pics

Lovely dogs, look well settled!
Were these two bred together to make the pups you were going to buy? If so i say you've had a lucky escape. Two blues mated can cause horrific problem pups.

Hi and welcome to the forum from Rocky and me.
I hope you are not intending to breed these two dogs as this can cause lots of bad health issues. You may find the link below to a thread where this has been discussed before:

Re: Hi All ! Gone from 0 to 2 :-0 with pics
Wow , thanks for the warm welcome.
lol Ill try & go large with more pics
I know theres no such breed as long legged Staffys & your right it probably is a sales ploy but it worked on me ! & the pictures showed the sort of dog I like regardless of standard.
Yes they have papers that go back 5 generations with champions too, but to me its just a bit of paper as my old dog was a full pedigree too & he could have been a heinz 52 & it wouldn't have bothered me. There also microchipped which I have to change over, Then to pet shop for some custom collars !
Too be fair the people we got them from had a story that seemed very genuine but for obvious reasons I wouldn't discuss on a forum.

Re: Hi All ! Gone from 0 to 2 :-0 with pics
know what you mean , my little girl was done at the correct age (post 2nd season) but Tommy will be going for the chop at 2 years , I'm going to ask the vet to let me keep them just so I can have them in my hand as a reminder of what happens when he commits the crimes that put him on the naughty step >
So lets have some more pics of those kiddies put into the galleries
