how much garlic?
I'd like to start including small amounts of garlic into the pup's raw diet now. How much should I feed them at a time?

Re: how much garlic?
Up to you really, i try and feed one crushed clove per dog every day or every other day.
But a couple of times a week is fine, i give one weekend off a month where i don't give any to give their system a rest but that isn't essential

Re: how much garlic?
Thanks Ella. I tried them each with a clove with dinner tonight: Vinny left it til last and ate it since it was the only thing left in the bowl and he's always worried he's never going to see food again
Roxy refused to touch it and refused to eat anything else that had touched it to the point where I rinsed everything off and put it all in a new bowl. Now that I think about it I should probably have just left it for her to decide to eat or go without. I was too soft

yer the boys pull faces with it 'cos they don't like it but they won't leave food!
You might have to hide it in something like mince or chunks of mince so it's not just sat on top

Re: how much garlic?
For anyone wondering garlic and onion both contain thiosulphate which can lead to haemolytic anaemia in dogs.
However the levels are really really low in garlic compared to onion, so therefore you would need to feed a rough equivalent of a bulb of garlic a day for many many days to reach toxic levels unlike onion
